Sony's PS3 will soon get a new version of firmware (3.30) that will bring 3D gaming, live streaming of MLB games, and will also enhance the Trophies system.

In order to stream MLB games from the Internet, PS3 owners will need to sign up for MLB.TV. service which will cost $100 to $120 a year or $20 to $25 a month.  You will need at least a 3Mbps connection to stream in HD.

The trophy collection has been enhanced to sort by different categories that will make it easier to show off and/or compare with all your friends on the PlayStation Network.

Not much has been said about 3D gaming except that the firmware is giving the PS3 3D stereoscopic support and their should be about five games that take full advantage of the new feature.

The firmware update, which is mandatory, should be available in the next three weeks although Sony did not officially give a date.
