Netflix announced the PS3 will be the latest device that will support their "Watch Instantly" streaming service bringing with it over 12,000 movies & TV episodes

Netflix announced the PS3 will be the latest device that will support their "Watch Instantly" streaming service bringing with it over 12,000 movies & TV episodes at the touch of your fingertips for only $8.99 a month.

"Whether you want to watch content on Blu-ray disc and DVD, download it from the PlayStation Network's video delivery service, or stream videos instantly from Netflix, the PS3 system is the only solution that offers it all."

This is a smart move on Netflix's part if you ask me, as about nine million PlayStation 3 systems have been sold in U.S. alone while more than 25 million have been sold word-wide.

To start watching movies streamed from Netflix on your PS3, you will first need to request a free streaming Blu-ray disc that is being made available to all Netflix members.

The free instant streaming disc leverages Blu-ray's BD-Live(TM) technology to access the Internet and activate the Netflix user interface on the PS3 system, which must be online via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
