Exactly a year and five months after Toshiba lost the HD war against Sony's Blu-ray, they have announced plans to produce its own Blu-ray Disc player.

Since Toshiba was already in the HD market to begin with, it would make sense for them to eventually get back in at sometime, even if it meant joining up with its former rival.

It appears Toshiba will start with just Blu-ray players to begin with but will eventually move to the Blu-ray recorder market if demand calls for it.
