Futuresource Consulting firm is predicting that Sony will sell 12 million Blu-ray players this year due to lower prices and a higher demand for video quality by consumers.

Blu-ray has got off to a rather slow start, due to high prices and limited content.  As the price goes down and the library goes up, there is only one way for Blu-ray sales to go, and thats up.

The low price of HDTV sets has also played a big contributor to the increasing sales of Sony's high definition format.
