DivX and LG Electronics announced that the new line of HDTVs from LG will be DivX certified for full 1080p DivX playback

DivX and LG Electronics announced that the new line of HDTVs from LG will be DivX certified for full 1080p DivX playback.

When using the DivX 7 software, users can expect to compress a full HD movie onto a USB stick, SD card, or even several movies on a standard DVD.

The company said a 2-hour 1080p feature film (H.264 .mkv) can fit on an 8GB SD card.  The TVs will also have the capability of playing DivX content from a PC or a USB slot.
