TDK Breaks the Capacity Barrier

This week TDK unveiled its newest creation in optical media, the 16 layer disc capable of storing 32GB per side on each layer for a total disc space of 1 terabyte

This week TDK unveiled its newest creation in optical media, the layer disc capable of storing 32GB per side on each layer for a total disc space of 1 terabyte.

The new technology TDK used is the same laser system as current Blu-ray players which I wouldn't think we be to hard to make compatible with current Blu-ray players.

There is nothing to making these discs, the problem lies in how thick they are, presumably about 3X thinker than current Blu-ray discs.
