The folks over at Oppo are bringing you the first universal Blu-ray player that not only plays Blu-ray discs but also multichannel music formats and DVD-Audio discs.

The BDP-83 has analog outputs to support 7.1 audio channels for playing a wide array of audio formats including Dolby TrueHD & DTS-HD Master Audio.

With the purchase of the $499 Oppo player, they will also throw in a 6 foot HDMI cable, a $29 value.
