Description:
RockPod 08 Lite is an extension of work started by Darren Yates for a tool called “RockPod 08” that was published by Australian PC user magazine in its December 2007 edition.
This new software takes the idea of RockPod into a new direction, removing most of the original features and replacing them with two new ones Darren was keen to try out – multiple file encoding and fixed filesize encoding.
Simply choose a profile, add your file to the list and keep adding files until you’re ready to convert them. You can add a different profile to each video clip you wish to convert.
The profiles themselves make it easy to create the files you want for three popular portable media players – Windows Mobile PDAs, Apple’s iPod classic and iPod nano and Sony’s PlayStation Portable (PSP).
Using the profiles, the software will encode your video file to one of three sizes – 128MB, 256MB or 512MB. That makes it much easier to create video files and load them onto fixed flash storage such as a 4GB iPod or a 2GB MemoryStick Pro Duo card for your PSP.
RockPod 08 Lite uses a two-pass encoding system to ensure that the video quality is as high as possible and that the final video clip file size comes in on budget.
