SD Cards to Replace DVD?

News from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) hinted at a new digital format for movies to come on SD cards

SD cards is a memory card format used in portable devices such as digital cameras, laptops, cell phones, etc.  There is a new company that would like to see movies encapsulated on these memory devices.

These special SD cards would need to be brought in to kiosks to have the movie burned on them and would also need a special DVD player with a built in SD slot to be played.

More details are supposed to emerge later this year...
