The results and analysis for Blu-ray (and DVD) sales for the week ending 31st December 2011 is in. The post holiday sales lull meant that revenue dropped dramatically compared to last week, and unfortunately, revenue is also down compared to a year ago.
Blu-ray revenue for 2011 for the first time topped $2 billion (in the US alone), up from the $1.7 billion recorded for 2010. The average weekly Blu-ray market share has also increased from 16% in 2010, to 22.6% in 2011.
