Netflix has said its about a year away from having closed captioning or subtitles available on its video-streamed titles

Netflix is working on creating "text files" to be used a subtitles for all of its movies that are available to stream using the "Watch Instantly" feature.

“Captioning is in our development plans but is about a year away,”

Netflix decided to do this based on the numerous complaints from customers but more importantly after CEO Reed Hastings made comments about it last month.
