DivX and LG Electronics announced that the new line of HDTVs from LG will be DivX certified for full 1080p DivX playback.

When using the DivX 7 software, users can expect to compress a full HD movie onto a USB stick, SD card, or even several movies on a standard DVD.

The company said a 2-hour 1080p feature film (H.264 .mkv) can fit on an 8GB SD card.  The TVs will also have the capability of playing DivX content from a PC or a USB slot.
