Microsoft Knew About Disc Damage

This may sound like extreme common sense to most but, over 55,000 people filed a complaint about scratched discs from moving or repositioning the XBOX while a disc is in use.

Rumors are circulating that Microsoft knew that the high RPM rate of the drive would cause this and even rejected proposed solutions that would solve this problem, including increasing the disc holder's magnetic field.
