Sony unofficially has plans to cut the price of the PS3 in March of 2009

According to D+Pad, Sony plans to cut the price of the PS3 this coming March to be more competitive. Bottom line is that the steep price of the PS3 is hindering sales.

Although, with the holiday shopping season approaching rapidly, Sony has denied this rumor so shoppers will not hold out for the price drop.

The new lower price hasn't been announced, but I am predicting in the $249 - $299 range for the base model PS3.
