BBC Streams to Linux for Free

As an experiment the BBC is streaming many radio shows, TV, and movies to Linux users for free

Distributing the content via a plug in, the live feed will generate new content dynamically.  They are planning on using multiple types of content in the future, all of which they claim will use freeware codecs.

Although not all content will appear through this free medium, and even the BBC has admitted that this is an evaluation platform for them to see how this and other platforms could be used in the future.
