Google has acquired Widevine, a company that provides DRM tools, so they can deliver content both online and on TVs.

Widevine has made on-demand services more efficient and secure for media companies, and ultimately more available and convenient for the end user.  Streaming content is becoming the cash cow.

Widevine is used by big companies such as AT&T, Best Buy, Dish Network, NBC and many more.
