Microsoft recently held meetings with several networks to discuss licensing television content for a new Web-based TV

Microsoft recently held meetings with several networks to discuss licensing television content for a new Web-based TV service.

Microsoft has already had video rentals and purchases on the Xbox 360 and has subscription video through Netflix, but it hasn't had live TV except for ESPN3 and Telus.

Users would be charged a monthly fee for access, much like a traditional cable provider.
