Netflix Launches Streaming Only Option

Netflix is introducing a streaming-only service priced at $7.99 a month but it comes with drawbacks to other services

Netflix is introducing a streaming-only service priced at $7.99 a month but other packages will increase from $1.00 to $8.00 a month.

The streaming only plan will however allow users to stream available titles to their televisions, mobile devices, and computer screens but, it does not include any by-mail DVD rentals.

Current Plans & Pricing:

  • 1 DVD (at a time) plan but only 2 DVDs a month max - Now $4.99 a month
  • 1 DVD (at a time) plan - Now $9.99 a month
  • 2 DVD (at a time) plan - Now $14.99 a month
  • 3 DVD (at a time) plan - Now $19.99 a month
  • 4 DVD (at a time) plan - Now $27.99 a month
  • 5 DVD (at a time) plan - Now $34.99 a month
  • 6 DVD (at a time) plan - Now $41.99 a month
  • 7 DVD (at a time) plan - Now $48.99 a month
  • 8 DVD (at a time) plan - Now $55.99 a month

    Netflix did not offer any explanation for the increases, but did note that the price of its two most popular plans — one DVD and 2 DVDs — will only rise by $1.
