Microsoft will finally address sound quality issues with Xbox headsets as the company refreshes the console later this year.
Microsoft gaming division head Jerry Johnson, said the audio codec and infrastructure will both be upgraded for improved voice quality while gamers chat back and forth.
The codec that was used when the console first launched was a low bit rate codec and accomplished the job then but, now its time to bring it into the 21st century.
The revamped audio system will be launched early in November alongside the Kinect controller-free input sensor.
