Philips has announced that it will be offering TVs with wireless internet capabilities so users can access Skype, email, and instant messaging programs.

The 7700 and 5700 series EcoTV line will have the new feature as well as the BDP7520 Blu-ray player this is coming this fall.

On a positive note for recent buyers of Philip TVs, the current 5705 and 7705 series HDTVs will be backwards compatible with Wireless Media Connect via a software upgrade.
