Netflix & Apple up the ante on wireless streaming devices with the release of their streaming video app for the iPad.

Subscribers will now be able to stream movies to their iPads without going through Apple's iTunes and without an internet connection. 

If you know you will pretty much always have a Wi-Fi connection, it would be cheaper to stream movies through Netflix "Watch Instantly" feature (Assuming you are a member of Netflix).
