The same kid who hacked the iPhone, George Hotz, has become the first person to hack the Sony PlayStation 3 to gain access to the entire system

It only took three years but, it was bound to happen sooner or later.  George Hotz, the kid who hacked the iPhone, found a way to get read/write access to the PS3's entire system memory.

"I have read/write access to the entire system memory, and HV level access to the processor. In other words, I have hacked the PS3. The rest is just software. And reversing. I have a lot of reversing ahead of me, as I now have dumps of LV0 and LV1. I’ve also dumped the NAND without removing it or a modchip."

He doesn’t plan on releasing his findings yet as he doesn’t believe they are strong enough to be used and could be circumvented with a Sony system patch. He’s not giving up though and signs off with, “A lot more to come…”
