Amazon VOD Service Gets HD Makeover

Amazon's Video on Demand service has just launched high-definition movies and TV episodes that can be streamed to the popular Roku device, TiVo time reorders, Sony Bravia Link and Panasonic Viera Cast TVs.

Its being called "Instant HD" and will start off with more than 500 HD TV episodes & movies.  HD movie rentals will sell for $3.99 to $4.99 while the TV shows will go for $2.99.

Blu-ray players are the next line of hardware to be capable of streaming for Amazon's "Instant HD" service.
