Last week Microsoft sold double the amount of XBOX's than Sonys PS3 in Japan allowing XBOX to retain its place in the game console war

Microsoft sold 28,116 XBOX 360 game consoles compared to just 10,705 PS3 units.  Analyst are speculating the sells were driving by the release of a new role playing game called "Tales of Vesperia".

Analyst have seen these kind of trends before every time a game goes exclusive for that game consoles.  I'm not a rocket scientist but, instead of knocking $10 to $50 off the game console itself, why not just offer a much wanted game exclusively for that console?
