Sony has released firmware 3.90 update for the PSP, allowing owners of the new PSP Slim and Lite handheld to make free online calls to some 200 million other Skype users around the world.

To take advantage of the Skype feature, users need only to download the new system update, sign up for a Skype account, and start talking using the headset and remote control.
