The HD-DVD camp is pursuing a different audience for its format, the young, more diversified, less affluent crowd. This is more than likely caused by the low prices, HDTVs are becoming more and more affordable. Most manufacturers now offer models well below the $1,000 price point, almost unheard of a year ago.
Out of all the early adopters, 43 percent chose HD DVD, while only 27 percent chose Blu-ray. Like it has been said so many times before, price plays a big part in these decisions.
