1000GB DVD Coming Soon

Mempile in Jerusalem claims that they can store up to 1TB (1,000GB) on an optical disc with the same dimensions—only slightly thicker—than a regular DVD and will be able to store 5TB once the jump to blue lasers is made.

The technology is currently limited to WORM (write once, read many) although the company hopes to have read/write drives available in the future.

I think it still premature releasing high capacity discs such as HD/BR on the market.At the moment the hardware for this new format is still very expensive compared to the release of normal dvd players, which started drop in price dramactly you buy a machine at under 40AU$(even cheaper) but reliability has also drop as well,I hope they hardware companies will address this,but I won't be holding my breath.
