That is what Microsoft is saying in regards to providing support for Service Pack 1 of Windows XP

Microsoft has announced that it will no longer support Windows XP Service Pack 1 and SP1a. According to ZDNet, this means that anyone who has not upgraded will have to shift to Service Pack 2 if they wish to continue to receive upgrades. More...
