MTV Now Does Pay-Per-Download

The Beta site called "Urge", goes live Wednesday, May 17, and will have 2 million tracks available for download, with pricing comparable to Apple’s iTunes — $0.99 per track or $9.95 per album.

Unlike iTunes, which doesn’t offer a subscription plan for music and which only works with proprietary Apple iPod hardware, URGE will offer unlimited downloads for $9.95 or $14.95. The higher-priced option comes with rights to transfer songs to any of 100 compatible portable music players. More...
