  • Adding by Barcode: the last barcode you scanned is now automatically selected in the queue
  • Further improvements for sorting text with numbers in it (especially with – symbols)
  • Faster sorting, resulting in overall performance improvements especially for large databases

  • Add Movies screen: When adding “by IMDb”, the result list always kept the last searched IMDb result.
  • Dark Skin: In the Folder panel, we’ve made the barchart color a bit brighter.
  • In the Pre-fill popup you could not select an “empty” item for pick lists.
  • Sorting your list by date wasn’t always working properly.
  • The program will now ask you if you’re sure you want to overwrite an existing file when using “Export to XML” or “Save Database As” (this was already working for other export/save options).

• In this update we’re introducing a new setting to display YouTube trailers in the details panel. Instead of an embedded YouTube player, they can now be displayed as clickable thumbnails/titles!
  
  
  You will see these noticeable improvements from this change:
  • Browsing through your movies is a lot faster.
  • The Details Panel loads a lot quicker.
  • Clicking a trailer will now always open it in your default browser!
  This new way of displaying the trailers is switched on by default, and can be switched off if you rather have the embedded trailers by switching the new setting.
  
  
  The new setting can be found under “Tools > Options > Customization”, at the bottom:

  • Statistics weren’t showing correctly in Light/System skin
  • Update IMDb rating/votes report: The votes column did not show the right number
  • An access violation error could occur when using Update from Core on a box set

• Version 21.4 is now available for your Movie Collector software, with a nice graphical update for your folder panel. The folder panel now show horizontal bars in the background behind the folder entries, representing the “relative size” of the folder, that is, relative to the biggest folder in your collection.

  This creates a nice subtitle bar chart in the background, making it easier to spot your biggest Formats, your most popular Actors and Directs, your favorite Genres, etc…

  TIP: Sort by Count(at the top) for a nice chart from biggest to smallest.

  Important: We are confident that MOST users will LOVE this new graphical update.

  BUT: we are also 100% sure that SOME users will absolutely HATE it 🙂
  ( we have been in this business long enough to be aware of that )

  So, of course this new feature is OPTIONAL (although enabled by default). You can switch it off using Tools > Options > Customization > “Show bar chart in folder panel”.

  • The menu item “CLZ Core > Submit item to CLZ Core” was not enabled when using Card View
  • Update from Core: Data Language setting was being ignored
  • Adding Movie Files: better automatic splitting of filename into year and title
  • Added format and format icon for “Movies Anywhere”

  Not exactly a super common request, but we do see this question regularly:
  
  
  ” How can I move all data from field X to field Y? “
  
  
  Sometimes the question originates from a user’s new insights into how to use the program’s fields in the best way. But, lately we see the question occur more often from users planning to switch to Movie Connect, and therefore regretting their usage of User Defined Fields and now wanting to move some UDFs to Location, Tags or Notes.
  
  
  Sadly, we did not have a solution for this (other than lots of manual labor). But as of today, we will be able to answer the above question better, with a happy:
  
  
  “Sure, just use the Transfer Field Data tool, from the Tools menu!”
  
  
  A new tool, with a deceptively simple UI (just select the From and To fields).
