The Standard Windows 7, 8 and 10 Codecs pack (formerly Windows 8 Codecs) allows you to use your favourite codecs in Microsoft's latest operating system, without interfering with the operation of the built-in codec system.

It enables things such as thumbnails, preview pane, explorer properties and other full Windows features for formats not natively supported by Windows 7 and 8.
