1. Download FAQs:

  1. Do I need to sign up to Digital Digest in order to use certain services?

You do not need to sign up for a Digital Digest account to access our content ... none of our content, including download links, require you to sign up. However some site features such as "remind me when this software is updated" will require that you have an account. You will need to sign up to our forum separately if you want to post there too.

  2. I get prompt for a username/password when I try to download. What's wrong ?

We have a download system in place that prevents direct access to our download server (which is password protected). This is to prevent other sites from stealing our links (our stats showed that before we implemented this system, over 90% of downloads were not by Digital Digest visitors ... hence making Digital Digest visitors' downloads much slower than necessary). If you used the download link from a Digital Digest page, you should not be prompted for a password. None of our downloads require you to sign up to Digital Digest either, or to perform any task other than to click on the link.

  3. I keep on getting 404 File Not Found page or HTML page when I try to download?

Download accelerators (or "leeching" tools) may cause download errors, and it is recommended that you use your browser's download capabilities instead. There may also be other reasons, which are listed below. Or the link may simply be broken, and you can email us about it.

  4. Why do I keep on getting redirected here?

    1. Our files can only be downloaded if you clicked on a link to them on an authorised site. Sites that illegally hot-link or direct-link to our files will find that the link will redirect to our anti-leech page.

    2. You can try to left click on the link instead of right clicking or copying the link to your browser's location bar (although both would normally work).

    3. Downloads from our servers has been tested to work with all major browsers.

If you get the File Not Found error that can't be explained by the above reasons, then please email us with the following information :
    • URL/link for the page on which the broken link was found, and
    • URL/link of the actual broken link

  5. Why do you need anti-leeching?

Blame the sites that leech our downloads and prevent *our* own visitors from getting to these downloads. As mentioned above, our stats showed that 90% of downloads were not from Digital Digest visitors, and this means that Digital Digest visitors had to endure slow downloads because of other sites stealing our download links.

2. Advertising FAQs:

  1. Can I run a POP or CPC campaign on your website?

Due to the limited number of impressions available to Digital Digest, POP and CPC campaigns are currently not available.

  2. Who will host the banners?

We will provide all the hosting requirements for your banner at no additional cost.

  3. Can I check the statistics (eg. click-through rate) of my advertising campaign?

Yes. All banner campaigns and some text link campaigns will be run through our ad server. Our ad server provides real-time statistics regarding your advertising campaign, including daily breakdowns and click-through information. This service is provided free of charge for applicable advertising campaigns.

  4. How long does a typical advertising campaign run for?

A typical advertising campaign is 31 days, but the length of the campaign is can be changed based on your need.

  5. How many banners can I have for a campaign? What type of banners do you accept? What about the location of the banners?

Each campaign can have up to 5 banners, each with different delivery rates if needed (eg. banner 1 delivered twice as many times as banner 2). You can change banners at anytime during the campaign. The banner can be animated or Flash based. All banners are located at the top of the page (top-of-fold).

  6. How is banner delivery calculated?

A typical campaign will usually have a set number of banner deliveries over a time period (typically 31 days). To meet this target, a daily impression count is calculated (ie. the total number of impressions for this campaign divided by the number of days in the campaign) to ensure banners are delivered evenly.

Banner delivery is then calculated on a daily basis, meaning that we will try to deliver the daily impression count every day. We always try to ensure over-delivery of banners on a daily basis, so the target impression count can be met.

  7. Do I get charged for over-delivered banners?

No. Due to ever changing site traffic patterns, you may not receive the calculated daily impression count per day during some days, however, the over deliveries on other days will make up for this shortfall.

  8. What are the payment options?

Payment is by PayPal, wire transfer or bank check. For instant activation of campaign, PayPal and wire transfers are recommened (bank checks can take up anything to 2 weeks to process). Payment is up front.

  9. How long does it take to setup a campaign?

It usually takes around 3 to 5 days after payment has been received to setup a campaign, which mainly consists of adjusting our delivery system to ensure the correct number of banner deliveries.
