Ever since Google announced the "WebM" video format, they have been slowly transcoding the entire YouTube library and they are getting close

Ever since Google announced the "WebM" video format, they have been slowly transcoding the entire YouTube library and they are about 80% done.

This is good news for proponents of the VP8 video codec and the WebM container, as the more content that's actually available in the format, the more support it'll get.

Will WebM and VP8 remain free from patent suits, only time will tell...
