In the latest Best Buy deal, the Geek squad is doing you the favor (or ripping you off) of updating your PS3 firmware for you for only $30

In the latest Best Buy deal, the Geek squad is doing you the favor (or ripping you off) of updating your PS3 firmware for you for only $30.

Best Buy went on record to say the firmware update is an optional service, and no one has to purchase it. Their just taking advantage of people who don't know any better.

The way Best Buy is advertising this offer is very unfair to new uneducated PS3 consumers. The retailer is making it seem like if you don't get the firmware update for $30, you're losing out.

In reality, you just gave them $30 for something that is absolutely free to you and easy to do.
