According to leaked financial documents, it appears the RIAA only received 2% back from the $60 million it invested in legal fees suing file sharers.

The financial documents show that the RIAA spent over 58 million in legal fees from 2006 to 2008 while only receiving about $1.3 in return.

The large difference between the two amounts was proof that the RIAA is not in the business of making money but rather deter users from downloading files under the threat of legal action.
