Apple said today that iPhone and iPod touch users have now downloaded 2 billion apps from the Apple apps store.  The store now features over 85,000 apps, and with 125,000 total developers in the program, many more are on the way.

“The App Store has reinvented what you can do with a mobile handheld device, and our users are clearly loving it.”

Apple has doubled the number of iPhone app downloaded in about half the time it took to reach 1 billion, which is an amazing milestone for Apple and show they are heading in the right direction.
