Hitachi Adds CinemaStar Line of Hard Drives

These new hard drives from Hitachi are packed full of AV features and are perfect additions for your HD DVR, media centers, and video surveillance systems.
There will be two versions of these drives, the 7K1000.C and 5K1000 CoolSpin, with the 5K1000 featuring the company’s CoolSpin Technology, which supposedly relies on motor speed optimization to provide a balance of performance, power utilization and acoustics.
Hitachi will be offering these cool and quiet 3.5 drives in either a SATA or PATA connection. These new hard drives should be available by the end of the year, however Hitachi has not said how much they will cost.
