The MPEGIF has created a forum with the sole purpose of exchanging information and views on technological, economic and regulatory issues.
The forum will have topics on MPEG-4/scalable video coding, 3-D TV, and advertising. They will also try to simplify the current licensing scheme, quality of experience and service metrics.
Some of the newly created topics will be DRM initiatives without royalties, IPTV ecosystem, ultra-HD (7680x4320), MPEG/high-performance video coding, MPEG-7 and MPEG-21.
