SpiralFrog started out similar to illegal P2P applications by allowing its customers to download music for free but, with ads the user must watch.  Unfortunately it also contained DRM, which could be the reason it never could keep customers and ultimately caused its departure from the internet.

The plug was pulled on the service yesterday as they were not able to repay the $9 million dollar loan.  On a sad note, all music downloaded from SpiralFrog will no longer play.
