A group of individuals have found a mysterious chip inside the headphones of Apple's latest iPod shuffle.  They believe that it might be Apples latest attempt at adding some form of DRM unbeknownst to you.

If the "authentication chip" confirms to be true, Apple will have that whole market cornered by its in-line remote headphones.

At this time, Sony has not made a comment on the allegations but, it this is true, you would be forced to use their headphones or buy some form of an adapter accessory.
