Sony announced yesterday they are introducing six new TVs that feature a auto shut off feature if no one is watching it

The new line of TVs, named V5, feature not only the new flourescent backlighting but also a little sensor that can detect if anyone is watching the TV.

In hopes to save precious energy, Sony claims these TVs will consume close to 40% less energy to previous models.  These TVs will retail for around $2,322 and will be available soon (later this year hopefully).
