The big 4 music group (Universal Music Group, Sony BMG, Warner Music Group and EMI) have gotten together, along with many independent labels, and will offer their music in iTunes in a DRM-free format.
Beginning in April songs on iTunes will be available at one of three price points: 69 cents, 99 cents and $1.29, with most albums still priced at $9.99.
Apple is also offering current iTune members a upgrade option that will upgrade their existing library (that have DRM) to DRM free music for only 30 cents per song or %30 per album.
