Law enforcement in China busted a Blu-ray counterfeit operation confiscating over 800 popular movies.  What is odd about this bust is they weren't exactly "Blu-ray" disc.

They were packaged in fake Blu-ray boxes, complete with holograms to make them appear legitimate. The disc were not "Blu-ray" disc either, they were regular DVDs.

The pirates re-encoding them using AVCHD, which only offers a 720p picture but, unnoticeable to most and sell them for as little as $7 a piece.
