Walt Disney and Wal-Mart have come together to try and give the new format a boost by selling the Magnovox Blu-ray player (NB500MG9) for just $298.  The higher end models (BD-P1500 and BDPS300) have also received a price cut to $348 and $388.

Granted the older profile players do not offer you all the bells and whistles but for that price, who can complain about it?  If that price is still too high I would suggest waiting a year or so for the price to become even lower or if your one of those people that have to have the best and latest of everything, just bite the bullet and buy one.
