Today Universal Studios announced that DVD and Blu-ray will have the same release date. Universal plans to release about 40 titles in the second half of this year. Some of them are:

• The Incredible Hulk
• American Gangster
• Hellboy II
• The Mummy Trilogy
• Knocked Up
• Miami Vice
• The 40 Year Old Virgin
• U-571

Universal has a strong interest in "Web-Enabled Content", a feature HD-DVD had from the start.

Creating Web-enabled content for our Blu-ray releases is a top priority at Universal,”...“We are aggressively pursuing some very exciting opportunities for our tent pole titles that are nothing short of groundbreaking. Our BD Live features will create a wholly immersive, interactive environment that will connect movie fans in innovative ways.”
