Sony Makes a Presumptuous Statement

Since there is no longer direct competition, Sony makes a ballsy statement that they would take half of the total home video entertainment market by the end of 2008.

I'm all for high expectations but, lets be realistic about it! To overcome the DVD format in a year is just plain absurd. The available library for DVD's is endless and the price of DVD players are insanely low.

Better picture quality plus extra features are no match for the DVD format, specially for the average video enthusiast, which makes up more than 3/4 of the DVD market.
