Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 has just been released! The new version focuses more on the entertainmeny lifestyle, and now includes movie mixing and collection organizing features.
PowerDVD 8's three new versions, Standard, Deluxe and Ultra (with Blu-ray playback) are packed with new features, which include:
Blu-ray playback (Ultra)
AVCHD support (Ultra)
MPEG-2 HD support
SMPTE VC-1 support
HDMI support
SPDIF mixing support (Ultra)
Movie Remix
Movie Collection Organizer
New video processing features
And much more ...
Please note that this version does not appear to support HD DVD playback, unlike the previous "Ultra" version of PowerDVD. You can, however, re-enable HD DVD playback in PowerDVD 8 Ultra by following our new guide.
There will also be an update to PowerDVD Ultra that adds Blu-ray Profile 2.0 (BD-Live) support, which has been announced and will be available free to all purchasers of PowerDVD 8 in a short while.
