Since the abandonment of the HD-DVD format by Toshiba has ended, there have been alot of unhappy early adopters. How would you feel if you were to go spend your hard earned money on a new HD-DVD player just to find out a couple of weeks later that the format had been abandoned and is no longer supported.

CircuitCity obviously feels your pain and wants to make up to you offering a "trade-in" program that allows you to trade in your newly purchased HD-DVD player that you bought from CircuitCity and trade it in own a shiny new Blu-ray player.

Circuit City is extending its usual 30-day return policy to 90 days for customers who purchased HD DVD players, in exchange they can get store credit good for a Blu-ray replacement (The policy doesn't apply to HD DVD movie discs).
