Playing Catchup

The PS3 is finally catching up with the gaming industry and is implementing "in-game communications". As of right now, gamers have no choice but to quit games in progress to check messages, play music, or even contact friends.

That may soon come to an end as early as this summer when PS3's will be receiving a firmware update (version 2.4).
