In a desperate attempt to regain the momentum, Toshiba has decided to slash their high end HD-A3 player to only $149
Toshiba is now set to reduce the price of its third generation 1080i-only HD-A3 player in half from $300 to $150, while the 1080p-capable HD-A30 and HD-A35 will be available for $200 and $300.

Will it be enough to save the HD-DVD camp from humiliation and defeat? HD-DVD still has the upper hand in afford-ability for the time being but, one thing is for sure, they are not giving up without a fight.
